Title: Epidemiology of porcine pestivirus and Torque teno virus in wean-to-finish pigs - NPB #09-134 Investigator:
نویسنده
چکیده
The purpose of this study was to describe the circulation of TTV and/or porcine pestivirus in commercial wean-to-finish populations. Oral fluid samples were collected from 10 wean-to-finish sites at 2week intervals from placement (3 weeks of age) to close-out. Testing for porcine pestivirus and TTV using PCR-based assays was performed on these samples. Among the 600 oral fluid samples tested, one tested positive for porcine pesitivirus. In contrast, 155 (26%) tested positive for TTV1; 483 (80%) tested positive for TTV2; and 134 (22%) tested positive for both TTV1 and TTV2. Thus, the results indicated that TTV infection was common in the 10 commercial wean-to-finish cohorts monitored in this survey.

Torque teno sus virus 1 and 2 viral loads in faeces of porcine circovirus 2-positive pigs
Recently, studies have suggested an association between the Torque teno sus virus (TTSuV) and the Porcine circovirus-2 (PCV2) in PCV2-associated disease cases. The aim of this study was to verify TTSuVs loads in pig faeces from PCV2-positive animals with and without diarrhea from PCVADaffected and PCV2-unvaccinated herds. A total of 80 faecal samples were collected individually from nursery and...

In late 2005, a postweaning, high mortality syndrome spread rapidly through finishing barns in swine dense areas of the United States. Diagnostic investigations consistently detected porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) from diseased tissues. Subsequent genetic analysis revealed that the infectious agent was a PCV2 type termed "PCV2b". Prior to late 2004, only the PCV2a type, but not PCV2b, had bee...
